The mission of Star In You, Inc. is to provide underprivileged youth with access to resources and opportunities in visual, performing and culinary arts. The arts should be an integral part of education. Why? Though studies do not prove beyond a doubt that arts education is linked to improvements in particular subjects, there are an overwhelming number of studies that support the argument. These studies also give reasons to believe that children who are actively pursuing an art do better socially and behaviorally with the right support. When creative writing, drama, music, dance, and art are integrated into the school’s curriculum, it has been concluded that it makes a huge difference in the overall success of the school. Students who study the arts are exposed to a richer source of information and insight that they are later able to draw upon for certain circumstances. What about the students who do not have this type of exposure and would like to pursue an art related program outside of school?
